Italian Wedding Soup
Our nervous system depends on certain nutrients — from B vitamins for energy and neurotransmitter balance, to magnesium for calm, iron for vitality, and omega-3s for brain health.
This Italian wedding soup is one of my favorites — simple, nourishing, and full of ingredients that support a balanced nervous system. I make it often, and it always feels comforting.
Ingredients:
Ground turkey (protein + B vitamins for neurotransmitters)
Beef bone broth (minerals, collagen, and gut support)
Can of diced tomatoes (antioxidants + vitamin C)
Olive oil (healthy fats for brain function)
Onion + garlic (immune + gut support)
Egg (choline for nervous system health)
Gluten-free breadcrumbs (to bind)
Nutritional yeast (rich in B vitamins)
Romaine lettuce (calcium, magnesium, and folate)
Sea salt + black pepper
How to Make It
Sauté onion in olive oil until soft and fragrant.
Add diced tomatoes, bone broth, and a splash of water. Bring to a gentle boil.
In a bowl, mix turkey with garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, and pepper. Roll into small meatballs and add them to the pot. Simmer for ~20 minutes.
Stir in shredded romaine lettuce and cook another 2–3 minutes, just until wilted.
Serve warm, topped with a sprinkle of nutritional yeast for a savory, vitamin-rich finish.
This bowl is grounding, mineral-rich, and deeply comforting — a quiet reminder that small daily choices in the kitchen can nourish both body and mind.
